RESEARCH IN THE ISLE OF MAN

The Centre’s research mission is to further understanding of Manx culture and environment in an international context. It finds expression both in the multi-disciplinary New History project and in three inter-disciplinary foci: the study of insularity, identity and the study of environmental change and human impact. The Isle of Man provides a distinct, compact and coherent ‘laboratory’ in which to study these issues, all of which have a much wider contemporary relevance.
